it has begun! www.gotosofa.com. postcard finalized, names collected, sent to press. logo design work. divided up all into 5 general committees. welcomed new people from the cannery studios. developed a more stuctured meeting process. thank you kimberley!

Jaz from vulcan studios brought promotional ideas, and his web site with links to vulacn artist's web sites.we can link the sites together and add email lists.chandra mentioned an older name used 10 years ago "S.O.F.A." "south of fruitvale artists"and possible one postcard to represent it all, with a map on the back. put together an email list combined with the other studios let them know whats going on, and how we design the cards, which are due by october 12th all studio locations divide the costs of postcards lots o musicians at vulcan possibly available for performances get ahold of people at 4001 and boise cascade

inferno would like to be concurrent with our show
dutchboy, vulcan and 4001 sites running open studios/galleries on the same date!
the three locations plan for the event in their own way, and mention the other locations on their postcards, with the map of the the sites on everyone's postcard. all locations are interested. we will share our plans so far with them and communicate from this point on.

here's how we decide the theme:
all those who feel like they have a strong idea,
sketch, collage, paint, etc your concept. rough ideas, dont work on it too hard yet. you can design more than one.
turn in art or email it to steelee.
i will post i on this site, and it will be presented at our October 12th meeting for final voting!
this concept will be our postcard and genral theme (please remember that the theme does not need to directly apply to your art)
text will the card will be created later.

inviting other artists to show, here's how it works:
invited artists pay $40. they can display in studios, or outdoor
installations, but not main gallery. their name will be on postcard
